Winning America; One Last Chance!
On election night 2024 after Trumps victory was confirmed, the supporters around Donald Trump broke out in praise to God singing the song, “How Great Thou Art.”
Charlie Kirk, in an emotional response, put it in accurate perspective, when he said; ”We deserved judgement, but we got pure grace! Now, what are we going to do about it?”
Sometimes God speaks to us through trials; sometimes through blessings. The blessings God is handing us by this election victory should be a kick in the pants to every Christian. With blessings comes responsibility and with responsibility, accountability. Let us be convinced that if we fumble this pass, the lights of freedom and prosperity for this nation will go out forever. This is our reprieve, our light in the descending darkness. We must seize the moment and act upon it!
That is the burden of this sermon. Business owners and CEOs are constantly employing motivational speakers to inspire business personnel to peak performance, using all available tools to power the business to success. What would be the potential for success in this all important mission, of pointing our nation to Christ, if the same tactics employed to obtain success in fleeting earthly pursuits, were employed in this great cause? In fact, if seen in a proper light, this motivational business thrust, in the absence of the same fervor in the Kingdom of God, appears idolatrous and contemptible.
“Church of God, Awake, Arise”!
Romans 13:11-
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
In the words of Jesus; “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. John 9:4 (KJV)
As the Father sent the son, so the Godhead is sending we, his church, to do His work in the world, in this narrow window of opportunity to work, before the light fades forever. Christs’ mission was to give us the gospel. That is the mission and message of the church today. It is: “ Jesus Christ and him crucified.” ICor.2:2b The need at this critical hour is a renewal and revival of this message of Christ and the cross. The simple message of Christ; Mark 1:15 (KJV)
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
When this simple message is received from the heart and truly believed, it changes one from sinner to saint, from darkness to light, from Satans’ kingdom to the Kingdom of (Christ) “his dear son” . This transformation is not only an internal , invisible spiritual reality, though it must begin in the heart; but it produces external change that demonstrates to all the power of the living Christ, to change men’s lives. It is a spiritual rebirth as in John 3:3 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
It produces what Apostle Paul speaks of in Titus 2:14 (KJV)
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
It also produces the strong bond of brotherhood Christ prayed for in John 17:20-
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
In a post covid era of “online church attendance” we desperately need a revival of brotherhood and physically gathering with other Christians to be strengthened, built up in Christ and to join hands to build the Kingdom of God.
Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
This is not just the idea of Pastors who want to boost church attendance, it is enjoined upon us by God himself, who knows the perils of individualism. This is exactly why the whole of the New Testament is written in the context of the brotherhood of believers. We are not perfected and preserved alone by our walk with God but also by our walk with fellow believers.
Ephesians 4:12 (KJV)
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Ephesians 4 says that he gave spiritual gifts to perfect the saints. How will that happen in us if we, for fear of getting hurt, and/or through spiritual apathy, “forsake the assembling of ourselves together”?
Some feel that America is losing the sense of community. I believe the best way to restore that is to restore the church community.
One other foundational truth that must be emphasized here; Feminism and Christianity are totally incompatible! Feminism is destroying the home! We are a nation in crisis because the home is being destroyed and we must place a significant share of the blame on the departure of the church from the traditional and Biblical role of the wife and mother in the home!!
1 Timothy 2:11-
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Paul, here, gives Timothy instructions regarding the woman's role in the church. Because the man was formed first, and because of the woman’s part in the original sin, she must allow the man to be the leader in the home and church. She can be saved though, if she is willing to accept that penalty for her first mothers failure. See also Gen.3:16 The woman’s salvation is directly tied to her willingness to accept her God given role in life!
Points to Consider
(1) We must repent of our apathy, and self indulgent, distracted living, ask God to restore our first love and build up ourselves “on our most Holy faith”.
(2) We must focus on “Holding forth the word of life”. In our efforts to reverse the societal slide into darkness, no weapon will be as effective as the “quick and powerful” word of God that is able to penetrate, convict, illuminate and give life. We must utilize every available tool to accomplish this, from social media, to bill boards, yard signs, and bumper stickers. It starts with feeding on the Word, hiding it in our hearts and letting it flow from our lips to those we rub shoulders with each day, and should extend to methods of reaching the masses.
The same election cycle that brought Donald Trump back as president, saw a number of states legalizing abortion. The young generation of Americans needs a conscience awakening. Consider messages like: “These six things doth the Lord hate-

14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
(4) Get involved in neighborhood bible studies, invite people to church. Statistics show the best way to get people to church is through the invitations of lay people.
